We have been having very heavy rains (very heavy) and last night we had a major mudslide that killed at least 20 people in Escazu. We didn't learn of the tragedy until we went for lunch and it was on the big screen TV. Many people are still missing.
It rained so hard that we couldn't hear the TV turned up all the way. It was quite frightening, and perhaps what it might sound like to live under a waterfall in a house with a tin roof.
We have a river that runs through deep a gully at the bottom of the backyard. The water is normally a kind of milky white color. and it has been rushing as it fills with muddy water coming down from the mountains that surround the town.
